Established in 1999, J W Associates is a Building Performance Consultancy.

We offer the following specialist professional services:

• Sunlight and daylight impact assessments for Planning Applications
  
• Part L Building Regulation, SAP and SBEM calculations and reports
  
• Energy Performance Certificates
  
• Low carbon and renewable energy feasibility studies
  
• Sustainable building design including façade optimisation studies, Code for Sustainable Homes, BREEAM environmental (energy) performance assessments and life cycle costing evaluations.

Assessment procedure & added value

• We create computer generated 3d building models at any RIBA Stage, although testing from concept “sketch” stage onwards offers the maximum added value.
  
• We provide a ‘shopping list' of options and innovative trade offs to establish the optimum building performance design solutions.
  
• We aim to identify the technical and commercial advantages/disadvantages of each design solution.
  
• We liaise directly with the Client, design team, Building control and Planning Officers to agree environmental performance targets and assessment strategies required on your project.
  
• We offer a post Planning and Building Control Application technical support service which often includes a degree of ‘technical negotiation' to help secure the relevant approval.
